Clean yourself first, Govindacharya tells US

The US attitude in helping the Third World is that of a money-lender who eyes the borrower’s land, KN Govindacharya, national convener of Bharath Vikas Sanghom, said. Delivering the keynote address on ‘Indo-American Nuclear Deal’ at the meeting under the auspices of Rebirth of India Movement in Thiruvalla, the RSS ideologue said that the help America extended to the Eastern nations were aimed at bringing the entire Orient with its infinite potential under US control.

CTBT, NBT and whatever new nuclear deals the US mooted were only the means to this end, he said. The vivisection of USSR, India and China had very long been on the US agenda which stood against anyone of these becoming a nuclear power so as to challenge the West’s nuclear monopoly and it would naturally want India not to go for further nuclear tests, he said.

He lambasted America’s major role in contributing to the global warming and said that India could develop its own technologies including the nuclear without depending on foreign powers since India was rich in thorium. Any such dependence would only turn India the land of sakthi, samruddhi and samskruthi into the US’s hunting ground, he cautioned.

It was also unsafe to use foreign technology in many fields, especially defence, he said. “Strength has its say and the strong have their way. We are a nation with enormous potential and what is needed is to strengthen ourselves so as to defend ourselves,” Govindacharya said.
