S’ubha kaamanaayen to Hon’ble Lal Krishna Advani ji
This one announcement is enough to support NDA in the next Lok Sabha elections.
The potential for creating a National Water Grid is a revolutionary potential
to empower the rural Hindusthan.
Â
The Grid will
add an additional 9 crore acres of wet land with assured irrigation, help
improve forest cover to 33%, and create an opportunity to quadruple
agricultural production. If the 9 crore acres are distributed equitably to 9
crore poor families, about 45 crore Bharatiyas will become land-owners.
Â
Do it, LKA; do
it well — involving every panchayat as a share-holder, stake-holder in the
Grid; put it in place in 5 years’ time. The present and future generations will
remember and bless NDA as we move to realize India Vision 2020.

RIVER LINKAGES
NDA’S FIRST PRIORITY : L K ADVANI
Â
Koteshwar Prasad Dobhal Director (PR)
Â
Leader of
Opposition in Lok Sabha, Shri L K Advani who is the NDA Prime Ministerial
Candidate on Tuesday declared that if voted to power, the new NDA regime’s
first priority will be to link all Indian rivers to wipe out the water
shortages.
Delivering the Valedictory Lecture at ASSOCHAM 2nd Day 87th Annual General Meeting
here today, Mr. Advani also promised that the NDA would ensure inclusive growth
to crores of people that are still below poverty line.
The veteran leader said that the gains of economic growth and its prosperity
have yet to be taken to large number of masses and it would be the attempt of
the NDA to make them part of economic growth of 9%.
On the linkages of rivers, Mr. Advani said that NDA had already done a great
deal of work and would pursue it much more vigorously, if it is voted back to
power in the forthcoming parliamentary elections in 2009.
Mr. Advani said, “time has come for all the key players who are associated
with India’s economic growth – those in governments at the centre and in states,
in the political establishment, business community, economists and other
professionals, mass media and others – to evolve a common approach towards how
to achieve accelerated growth with the primary objective of poverty
eradication, productive employment generation, equitable development of all
sections of our society and all regions of country and
significant improvement in the living standards of ordinary Indians”.
“In the months ahead, it will be endeavour of the BJP to prepare a blueprint
for this Indian model of development.  In this effort, we seek the
views and suggestions from ASSOCHAM, other business associations, think tanks
etc.”, said Mr. Advani adding “my party has always believed in decentralization.
On the contrary, the structure of governance that successive Congress governments
have erected is excessively centralized and detrimental to both democracy and
development.  Therefore, it will be our endeavour, if we get an
opportunity to govern at the centre to transfer many powers and functions from
New Delhi to state capitals and urge the state governments to transfer many of
their own powers and functions to local bodies.
Among others who spoke on the occasion include Outgoing President of ASSOCHAM,
Mr. Venugopal N. Dhoot, its Incoming President, Mr. Sajjan Jindal, Sr. Vice
President, Ms. Swati Pirmal and Secretary General ASSOCHAM, Mr. D S Rawat.
