CPI(M) joins hands with Separatists in Kashmir against Hindus

CPI M always claims that they champion the cause of minorities in India . But what we see in Kashmir is just the opposite.

 

The Kashmir unit of CPI M has joined hands with separatists and PDP to oppose the transfer of forest land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board for building temporary structures for thousands of pilgrims who annually trek to the cave shrine deep in the Himalayas .

 

In a joint statement issued yesterday,Muhammad Tarigami ,State Secretary of CPI (M),Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen of the PDP and Ghulam Hassan Mir of the JKDP had demanded that the decision to transfer forest land to be cancelled immediately.

 

“We repeat our view that the order of diversion of forest land for non-forestry purposes be cancelled forthwith and the erring official removed and punished” the statement said.

 

The opposition National Conference Leader Farooq Abdullah also demanded that the government order sanctioning land diversion be revoked.

 

The ruling ally Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mufti Mohammad Sayed has gone further and served an ultimatum to the government setting a deadline of Jun 30 for the government to revoke the order.

 

At an extraordinary meeting of cabinet ministers at party patron, Mufti Mohammed Sayed’s residence, the PDP asked the government to take “full control” of annual Amarnath Yathra from the SASB. The PDP Spokesman also said “The meeting warned that if the government fails to withdraw the order by Jun 30, PDP reserves the right to decide whether or not to stay in the government”

 

Addressing his first press conference after his return from Pakistan , Malik, the chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, today threatened to undertake a fast unto death unless the decision to transfer land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board was immediately revoked.

 

However Bharathiya Janata Party(BJP) protesters blocked the Srinagar-Jammu highway here today to counter a separatist campaign in the Kashmir valley against the transfer of land to Amarnath Shrine Board.

 

 

Yugul Kishore, a state legislator of BJP, said, “The Amarnath Shrine Board has both Hindus and Muslims, and the BJP has faith in the board.” “The land has been allotted for amenities, but today, they are demanding its withdrawal. We will not tolerate this at all,” he added
