The Prince of Arcot -Wolf in Sheep’s clothes

via R. Ananthanarayan published on July 4, 2008
I refer to the article in The Hindu today on the inauguration of a photo-exhibition on “The Landmarks of New York” organised in Chennai inaugurated by the so called Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali.

The Nawab did not disappoint when he used the opportunity to appeal against exploiting History to stir up conflict or hatred between communities. He was ofcourse referring to the exhibition on “Aurangazeb” held in Chennai in March which was disrupted by Muslim goons coinciding immediately after his protest visit to the exhibition.
I recollect his speech at the memorial function of Late Swami Ranganananda, which also appeared in The Hindu when He spoke about fake godman in religion apparently referring to the Kanch Mutt.

True to his colours as a Chameleon, as the winds of change are blowing away from the Congress and a NDA Govt. has become a distinct reality after the next elections and to ensure that He continues to enjoy his diplomatic Passport and other facilities, during his recent trip to New Delhi He visited Shri L.K. Advani, something He had not done in four years or even before. True to our Hindu tradition, culture and for upholding Secularism, Shri Advani not only courteously received him but also presented him a copy of his latest book.

This is exactly what the secularists, fundamentalist and media intellectuals do, in the name of opposing communalism, fight the BJP, RSS tooth and nail and whenever an there is a possibility of BJP coming to power, lap up to them and secularise them at the peril of the Hindu community.

For people who closely watch the Nawab, it is not surprising how he behaves or talks, but what is baffling is why our own tribe are tongue tied to confront this Wolf in Sheep’s cloths whenever He behaves and speaks in an anti Hindu and an national manner. Why is He invited to participate in events having no connection to his activities, is it to ensure huge publicity in mainstream newspapers like The Hindu since the Editor-in-Chief is his close friend. Why cannot we treat him like any other fundamentalist Mullah and confront him with facts
.

Our real danger lies not only in our enemies like the Nawab but in our inability to come to terms with facts. As they say in Tamil ” You can wake up a sleeping person, but not someone who pretends to sleep”.
