Amarnath land row : VHP call for nation-wide agitation on 13th

NEW DELHI: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad yesterday dismissed the Centre’s ‘initiatives’ to end the Amarnath land row as it would not fructify unless there is a talk to restore land to Amarnath Shrine Board.

The meeting convened by the Prime Minister is an insult to the majority Hindu community of the country as the resolution had no mention of the giving back of the land, said VHP leader Dr. Praveen Bhai Togadia.

The Hindu outfit called for a nationwide road blockade on August 13.

“The agitation is not restricted to Jammu alone. The nation would come to standstill on August 13”, Togadia claimed.

Togadia also objected to the use of army against the nationalist protestors. The UPA government is using army to fulfil its political agenda. You cannot pitch the army against the nationalist demonstrators. We object to such actions,” he said.
