Unauthorised Hooters in Mosques

via HK source published on September 16, 2008

Police
have admitted that within the jurisdiction of Thane Municipal
Corporation, there are unauthorised hooters on 71 mosques. The news has been published in todays’s ‘Dainik Saamna’. It has been
mentioned in the news that it is the policy of the Congress Government
to take action only against Hindus and turn a blind eye to all illegal
activities of Muslims.

Police show rules to Hindus when loudspeakers are used by Hindus
during their festivals but when it comes to Muslims, police have no
daring to take action against the hooters; one gets a doubt whether
police department has gone deaf.

There is a rule that the shape of the speaker should be like a box
and sound should not be more than 45 decibels. Loudspekaers are not to
be used from 10.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m. except in theatres or halls.
Further, the loudspeakers are not to be used within 100 metres distance
of educational institutions, hospitals, courts and other quiet areas.
All the above conditions have been disregarded by the mosques but no
action has been taken against any of the 71 mosques.

The above shocking data was obtained from different police stations
under the jurisdiction of Thane Police Commissioner’s office. Out of 71
mosques, 28 mosques are in ‘Mumbra’ known as ‘Small Pakistan’ and none
of the mosques have sought permission to keep loudspeakers.
