3 More Terrorists under arrest-Terror hunt goes on

The Kerala Police on Monday arrested terror operatives Feroze of Pathalam, Ernakulam district, and Badaruddin of Kaloor meanwhile Kannur Police arrested Navas another Jihadi in which the total number of deadly terrorists arrested from Kannur reaches 5.

 Feroze confessed that, he had recruited several young men from central Kerala for terror outfits. He also admitted that it was he who had recruited Muhammad Yasin alias Varghese Joseph alias Rimon of Chakkarapparambu, Kochi who was killed by security forces in Lolab Valley, Kupwara sector, Jammu and Kashmir on October 4.

The police had taken Feroze into custody after it was confirmed that one of the four Malayalaee militants killed in Kashmir early October while trying to sneak into Pakistan was Varghese Joseph, a member of the goonda gang led by Thammanam Shaji. Varghese had converted into Islam accepting the name of Muhammad Yasin. Shaji had confirmed that Feroze was the man who had got Varghese converted into Islam. Feroze had reportedly been involved in other serious crimes.

Feroze and Badaruddin were said to have had close connections with Abdul Raheem of Chettippady, Parappangadi Malappuram, another of the four Malayalee militants killed in Kashmir. They also had connections with terror operative Nazeer of Neerchal, Kannur, who was considered to be the topmost recruiter of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba in Kerala. The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Thalassery, Kannur remanded both Feroze and Badaruddin in custody for 14 days.

Sources in the police said that they were yet to know about the whereabouts of Abdul Jabbar, said to be the fifth man of the Malayalee terrorists who had tried to sneak into Pakistan. The Kerala Police had earlier said that a man named Abdul Jabbar of Malappuram had escaped the action with injuries and that he had entered Kerala.

However, the Jammu and Kashmir Police had said that no Malayalee from the militant group came under the security forces had escaped.

Meanwhile, a report from Bhopal quoted the Madhya Pradesh Police as saying that Qayamuddin, a terror man who had worked behind the Ahmedabad blasts, had participated in the training camp held by SIMI at the hill resort of Vagamon in Idukki district in last December. Qayamuddin was arrested on Monday by the MP Police. The police also said that three of the total 45 SIMI activists who had taken part in the Vagamon camp were from Kerala.
