When the whole country came under the blanket of Islamic terror, particularly in the last four and a half years, increasing its frequency in the last six months, the rattled UPA government seems to have been utilizing the September Malegon blasts to the hilt, with a motive of diverting the attention of the people and creating a new concept of ‘Hindu Terror’. In the process, it doesn’t seem to hesitate to malign the Armed Forces and the Hindu majority. The ‘secular’ mainstream media, which has always been pliable to the machinations of the pseudo-secular political parties and minority organisations, has cooperated to the maximum in sensationalising the so-called Hindu terrorism.

It is almost a month since Sadvi Pragya has been arrested along with a retired Army Major Ramesh Upadhyay and a Hindu activist Ramji and not even an iota of admissible evidence has come out despite the ATS subjecting them to all sorts of tests including lie-detection and narco analysis, etc, in course of interrogation. Then, a serving Army officer, Lt.Col. Purohit, with an impeccable track record, has been arrested on charges of masterminding the blasts, despite the fact that he has been in Madhya Pradesh on duty for the last eighteen months. The ATS has also been irresponsible in telling through the media that the involvement of some more Army officers could not be ruled pout. The media has gone to town with stories maligning the Army again.

 

The ‘efficient’ ATS wasted no time in putting the Army officer also under narco test and based on his ‘confessions’, it has arrested one Swmiji Amritananda Dev Theerth Maharaj from Kanpur. Both the ATS and the media have conveniently forgotten the alleged confession of Purohit that he was in contact with a few SIMI terrorists. Keeping aside that part of the confession, the ATS has been focusing only on the ‘Hindu’ angle. It is worthwhile to note that both the Sadvi and the Swami were actively participating in the ‘Amarnath’ agitations against both the central and state governments. It seems sinister for the government to take revenge on them for their active participation in the Amarnath agitation. 

 

The way the ATS has been going about with the investigation process and the subsequent deliberation to the media has been suspicious and it seems that it has been carrying out the instructions given by the powers that be. When the ATS’s spins on Sadvi’s motor bike and her alleged conversation with Ramji failed to give any credibility, it has preferred to arrest Lt.Col.Purohit and again when its spins on his ‘confession’ didn’t evoke any response, it has arrested the Swami Dayanand Pandey alias Amritananda Maharaj. 

 

While there cannot be a second opinion on the due course of law and the deserved punishment for the culprits, the ATS must present its case in a more transparent and credible manner, which is totally missing in the investigations of the Malegon blasts. It should not play into the hands of ‘powerful’ vested interests.. What is more appalling and outrageous is the attempt of the ATS to involve the arrested people in many other blasts such as Samjhauta Express, Ajmeer Dharga, Malegon (2006) and many others despite the fact that the SIMI has been found guilty in all that! The ATS’s actions and talks are more of political in nature than official and legal.

 

Meanwhile the country doesn’t know what has been going on in regard to the Assam blasts, which has claimed the lives of more than seventy people and injured hundreds. Also what has happened to the investigations of Hyderabad blasts, UP blasts, Delhi blasts, Jamma Masjid blasts and many others? If the ATS has forgotten, why the mainstream media is silent?

 

Dalits are pitted against OBCs; STs are made to confront SCs; OBCs are instigated to fight against MBCs; Lawyers are always against police; now police (ATS) is pitted against Army. Ultimately Indians are fighting Indians and ‘alien’ forces are ruling the roost! If the trend continues, consequences will be disastrous for the nation.
