‘Tamil Religion’ is an integral part of Sanathana Dharma

‘Thamizhar Samayam’ seminar tomorrow

Dharma Rakshana Samithi, Chennai, has organised a public seminar on ‘Thamizhar Samayam’ on Sunday the 7th December 2008 at Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, T Nagar, Chennai at 6 30 pm. Professor Muthukumaran, former Vice Chancellor of Barathidasan University will be presiding over the function and Krishna Jagannathan of Vidhyabarathi Educational Trust will give the introductory speech. Pujya Sri Omkarananda Swamigal of Sri Bhuvaneswari Avadhutha Vidhya Peetam, Theni, will be rendering the special address.

 

The seminar is aimed at telling the Tamil people that ‘Tamil Religion’ is an integral part of Sanathana Dharma, that is Hinduism and to emphasise the fact that Tamils are Hindus and that Hinduism is inclusive of Tamils’ religion, worship and culture. This seminar gains importance because of the anti-social and anti-communal attempts made by certain vested interests and divisive forces to alienate the Tamils from the ‘Hindu’ fold in the name of the farcical Aryan-Dravidian theory. The objective of the seminar is to create awareness among the Tamil people to unite under the Hindu fold irrespective of caste affiliations.

 
Dharma Rakshana Samithi has also arranged for another function by name ‘Aiyappa Sangamam’ for the morning session between 10 am and 1 pm at D G Vaishnava College, Arumbakkam. Pooja, Bajanai and Satsangam will be conducted and the function will be inaugurated by Music Director Rajamani under the Chairmanship of Sasikumar, Secretary, Sri aiyappa Baktha Saba, Mahalingapuram. Pujya Sri Omkarananda Swamigal will be blessing the Aiyappa Bakthas with a religious discourse. Krishna Jagannathan, K N gopalakrishnan of Anna Nagar Aiyappa Seva Sangam, R K Barathan of K K Nagar Sastha Sangam and others will be participating.
