300 ABVP activists to attend march
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: About 300 ABVP activists from Kerala would take part in the march organised by ABVP to Siliguri corridor demanding action against Bangladeshi infiltrators on December 17.
According to a statement issued by ABVP national vice-president M. Jayakumar here on Sunday, nearly 50,000 students would take part in the nation-wide agitation.
The 22 km-long stretch from Kishanganj to Islampur which lies between Nepal and Bangladesh is popularly known as chicken neck. The area has become a settlement for thousands of Bangladeshi infiltrators and has become an operational base for various terrorist outfits, the statement said.
Hence, the ABVP demands that the area should be declared as a special security zone and the infiltrators be evicted, the statement said.
