‘It is a pro-development verdict’, says Karna CM
BANGALORE: Buoyed by the BJP’s performance in
the Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today
said the people’s mandate was in favour of “development” work
initiated by his government.
“Despite a tacit understanding between Congress and JDS, the BJP
has emerged victorious. We predicted that we will win 20 seats, but
have won 19, which is close to our prediction,” an elated Yeddyurappa
told reporters here.
Mounting a frontal attack on Congress and JDS, Yeddyurappa said, “the
results are a befitting reply to false allegations made against my government
by both the Opposition parties”.
The resounding victory of BJP candidates in all the three constituencies
in the city was an endorsement of the development work done by the government,
he said.
