At 11.15 A.M. two men in motor cycle fired on tourists came to visit Delhi’s Jama Masjid, one of the largest Muslim Mosque’s in India situated in the old Delhi area. Two Tourists from Taiwan have been injured in the firing. Firing took place in the Gate No:- 3 of Jama Masjid.

The spot where the youths opened firing is just 100 meters away from Police Station of the area. After the terror attack on foreign tourists, Indian Mujahideen issued a statement which was e-mailed to BBC Hindi service. According to the statement, Indian Mujahideen threatened to continue violence during Commonwealth Games to be held in New Delhi between October 3 to 14th

Just two hours after the firing incident, a Maruti 800 car, parked some 100 meters away from the spot of firing incident caught fire. Photo of the car in flames is attached ( courtesy rediff.com ). Police recovered a pressure cooker fitted with bomb as well as documents from the car. This car was placed  below a transformer, so that bomb blast in the car will lead to a much bigger blast in the transformer. But fortunately, the wiring of the pressure cooker bomb was not worked properly, which saved many precious life.

But as soon as the Indian Mujahideen angle became public, Government of India and its Home Minister started down grading the seriousness of the issue. As is evident from the Indian Home minister’s actions in the last several months, he is interested in pursuing only those cases which involves his political opponents or Hindu groups “ in the words of Sh. P. Chidambaram “ Saffron Terrorists”

According to various sources, Government of India and its Home Minister decided to ignore today’s case involving Green Terrorists because any arrests of Muslim youth in this time will lead to loss of votes in coming state government elections in Bihar, West Bengal etc.
