via HK published on September 7, 2009

HYDERABAD, Andhra Pradesh :  Days before his death Samuel Reddy passed a resolution in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly requesting the Central government to accord the Scheduled Caste status to converted Christians.

Apart from Congress party which led the Government TDP’s Chandrababu Naidu, Chiranjeevi’s praja Rajyam,Telangana Rastra Samiti, Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Communist Party of India supported the Resolution. Bharatiya Janata Party and the Lok Satta party were the only political parties which oppossed this vicious move against Scheduled caste Hindus.

According to the Indian Constitution Scheduled Caste privileges are only for Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists. Christians and Muslims which boast themselves as casteless Religions now urge for SC -ST benefits. Christians and Muslims in India already enjoy various other benefits as ‘Minority Religions’ from Education to Job to Marriage to Pilgrimage.

It is learnt that Central Government is keen to implement this resolution across the country, in order to promote widespread conversion by evangelical missionaries
