BJP seeks white paper on India-China ties
The BJP on Friday demanded that the UPA Government come out with a white paper on the entire ramifications of India-China relationship including the improvement and strengthening of the infrastructure along the borders.
Former BJP chief Murli Manohar Joshi and party spokesman Ravishankar Prasad lamented the Government’s approach towards the whole problem and argued it was ignoring many important aspects even after the humiliating defeat of 1962.
“The Prime Minister should take the Leader of the Opposition into confidence and tell him what the state-of-affairs is. The country would like to know about the state-of-affairs and the Government should bring out a white paper on what is being done on our Northern orders, including Afghanistan and China,” Joshi said.
Prasad accused the cumulative signal was indeed ominous and disturbing and yet the whole attitude of the Government is one of callous negligence.
He sought to know from the Government why there is a deliberate attempt to downplay it and what was the current nature of relationship between the two countries?
