Emergency – Only surviving copy of Shah Commission report destroyed by Congress in Australian National Library

published on November 17, 2010

Two reports one by Amrith Lal in Indian Express published in 2000 and the other by Kuldip Nayyar in Navhind times recently in August 2010 sheds light into the mastery of Congress to cover up what is not palatable for the dynasty.

Typical of Congress’ furtive ways to cover up its misdeeds, the home ministry claims it does not have the emergency proclamation issued by then President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed. Nor does it have any record of the decisions taken on the arrests of thousands on the basis of false allegations.

Shah Commission was a commission of inquiry appointed by Government of India in 1977 to inquire into all the excesses committed in theIndian Emergency (1975 – 77). It was headed by Justice J.C. Shah, a former chief Justice of India. The commission deposed hundreds of individuals and after two years produced a 500 page report on the persons responsible for atrocities committed during emergency. The report was particularly scathing of Indira Gandhi, her son Sanjay Gandhi,[[Pranab Mukerjee]],Bansi Lal,Kamal Nath and officers belonging to civil services who helped Sanjay Gandhi. This report was later rejected by the congress government headed by Indira Gandhi, which was back in power in 1980. The government also took the extraordinary step of recalling every published report and destroying the copies. It is now believed that not a single copy of this report exists in India.A third and final report of the commission seems to have slipped out and is currently held by National Library of Australia.

The shah commission, commented in its final report that Navin Chawla the congress stooge who acted as election commissioner is “unfit to hold any public office which demands an attitude of fair play and consideration for others”.

It is rather surprising that no hue and cry have been made by our media the fifth column of democracy nor by our opposition parties over this. Every effort should be made to get a copy from National Library of Australia before the long hands of evil reaches there.
