GOI plan to extend OBC reservation to Muslims

New Delhi: It has been learnt that , along with extending SC status to Converted Christians , Government is looking into extend reservations to Muslims as well under OBC category.

Government plans to give 6 % reservation to Muslims , there by reducing Hindu OBC reservation from 27% to 21%.

Islam and Christianity which boasts themselves as casteless societies are now in the forefront to grab the constitutional rights of Hindu OBC’s and SC’s. Christians who converted from ST background are already receiving ST reservations.

Muslims in States like Kerala, Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh are already enjoying the OBC status. The current move by Government of India is under the excuse of  implementing the most controversial Sachar Committee recommendations.

As per Sachar, Backward Muslims constitute around 70 per cent of the Muslim population in the country. Sachar says Muslims are into two groups — Ashrafs and Ajlafs. While Ashrafs include all Muslims who claim to be of foreign descent and high-caste Hindus who converted, Ajlafs, meaning degraded, comprise occupational groups like butchers and low-caste Hindu converts.

In Kerala Muslims enjoy 12 % quota , 5 % in Andhra and 3.5% in Tamil Nadu in Government jobs and Educational Institutions.
