MANGALORE: BJP MP Varun Gandhi will be here on January 24, to take part in the Hindu Yuva Samavesha at Nehru Maidan, organized as part of the silver jubilee celebrations of Bajrang Dal.

Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, the convention organizing committee president Bharath Shetty and general secretary Krishnamurthy said BJP Lok Sabha member Varun Gandhi had agreed to attend the convention and address the gathering.

As many as 50,000 Bajrang Dal cadre and youth from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasaragod districts were expected to take part in the programme.

Different activities were conducted during last one year as per the instructions from the national committee and 7,000 new persons were enrolled as members during the membership drive this year. In Mangalore city, the organization has 70 units with 15,000 members and the convention would serve as the valedictory ceremony of these activities, they said.

Prior to the convention a colourful procession to mark the completion of 25 years of the organization will be taken out from Jyothi (Ambedkar) Circle to Nehru Maidan.

Speaking on the occasion VIshwa Hindu Parishat leader and committee honorary adviser M B Puranik said the main objective of the convention was organization of the youth and creating awareness on certain issues.
