BJP youth leader selected for US meet

BJP youth wing national secretary Vani Tripathi has been nominated for a three-week programme, entitled ‘Women as Political Leaders,’ on invitation by the US. The programme is one of the US Government’s most prestigious professional exchange meets for foreign opinion leaders.

The programme will provide an overview of constitutional and legal safeguards that grant and protect rights of women and minorities in the US. Tripathi will be able to identify major historical issues, challenges and achievements that have defined women’s movements in the US over the past two centuries.

There will be wide-ranging Indo-US discussions on issues relating to women’s access to and participation in the political decision-making process at the federal, state, city and community levels.

The role of schools, universities, media, businesses, courts and women’s groups shaping social values, attitudes and behaviour towards women and minorities will also be discussed.
