Attack on Pramod Muthalik, Youth Congress activists under arrest

Bangalore: Sri Ram Sena leader Pramod Muthalik was attacked here by Youth Congress activists while he was taking part in a TV debate on Valentine’s day. The assailants blackened the face of Muthalik with Charcoal.

Muthalik and several others had been invited for the debate titled ‘Love Wars’ organised by the Asianet Suvarna channel outside the Ravindra Kalakshetra on Thursday evening.

Several youth congress activists attacked him on the stage where the debate was being filmed. They cornered Muthalik in his seat, pushed him to the ground and smeared his face with charcoal.

Bangalore police arrested five persons linked to the Youth Congress in connection with the assault on Muthalik. Bangalore Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari also indicated that the attack could have been pre-planned by the perpetrators in collusion with rival TV channels who were present on the scene.
