The Congress Party is increasingly showing signs of frustration that each one of its attempts to tarnish the Opposition Party and its leaders is failing.

Not only this, it is unabashed by practicing untouchability, which can only come out of its fascist character. The way in which the well-known artist belonging to an eminent and scholarly family is being targeted is revealing. Just because Shri Amitabh Bachchan’s family has differences with one Congress family the entire party and even the Government in states where they are in power are keen not even to be seen on one platform with him?

The Mumbai Worli Sea link doesn’t belong to that family nor does it belong to the Congress Party. It belongs to the people of India. Furthermore, here in Delhi the Chief Minister calls of the invitation extended to the son of this artist and Congressmen go on a rampage tearing the posters and banners. Hooliganism unbridled!

The Country has not forgotten the way in which Shri Kishore Kumar an equally eminent popular play back singer was targeted during the Emergency. The All India Radio banned his songs for the entire year, during which the dictatorship under the Emergency held sway.

So much for India’s oldest party and its faith in India’s Constitution and rule of law.

Shri Narendra Modi and the SIT

Shri Narendra Modi has shown great sense of responsibility in the manner in which he appeared before the SIT. He has proven all his critics wrong.

Shri Modi has been saying repeatedly that he is ready to face any judicial process.

In response to a letter written by the SIT, Shri Modi agreed to a time date and place to present himself before them.

He co-operated and calmly responded to the nine hours of interrogation. He has shown through his conduct that he firmly believes that the constitution and the law of the land is supreme.

Vested interest groups and ‘Modi-baiters’ were spreading rumours that he will go in a procession, etc. and draw political mileage out of this. Some even went to the extent of saying he may not even go before the SIT, awaiting the developments of the early April proceedings in the Supreme Court.

It is worth stating here that in this investigation issue of “conspiracy” and “involvement in the riot” relating to the Gulberg Society killings, all the investigating officers are chosen by the SIT and are non-Gujaratis.

On the matter of Smt. Zakia Jaffrey’s complaint that she may not get justice in Gujarat the facts indicate differently.

On receiving a complaint from Smt. Jaffrey, the Gujarat government appointed a committee under the CID Crime. It is reported that Smt. Jaffrey did not even appear before it for nearly a year.

Then she approached the High Court, which rejected her complaint on the grounds that it is vague. So did the Supreme Court on similar grounds.

On her suspicion that there may be lapses from the side of the Gujarat police the Supreme Court Constituted the SIT.

On the one hand, we have the dreaded terrorist David Headley not even being interrogated. All attempts by the Congress Party has only been half hearted and one of its attempt even shamefully failed. No progress is being made.

However, the Congress Party by encouraging and rewarding Modi-baiters has been constantly harassing a duly elected Chief Minister in order to defame him. The misplaced energies of the Congress Party shall spell greater danger to the Country.

The Supreme Court had earlier passed a clear verdict on Afzal Guru. The UPA has shown no enthusiasm to implement that decision even though Afzal Guru is a proven offender against India.
