Yuva Morcha seeks CBI probe

KASARGOD: The Bharatiya Janatha Yuva Morcha has demanded taking away of the Home portfolio from Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, removal of DGP Raman Sreevastava and ordering of a CBI probe into the torture of ABVP activists following the incidents at the Changanassery NSS College.

The Yuva Morcha state council meeting held here on Monday demanded that case a of murder attempt be registered against all police officials who were involved in the torturing of ABVP activists.

The Yuva Morcha alleged that Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was using the police force for political purpose and the DGP Raman Sreevastava was doing everything to please his political masters.

The Yuva Morcha said the Home Minister and the DGP had failed to conduct an impartial probe into the incident and arrest the real culprits involved in the murder of a police officer. The Yuva Morcha said they had discredited the morale of the police force.

The Yuva Morcha also demanded the suspension of DySP Vijayan who was involved in the torture of the ABVP activists.

Yuva Morcha state president K Surendran, state general secretary P Venugopal and Yuva Morcha district president K Sreekanth addressed the state council meet.
