Youth Congress State president T Siddik has called for a detailed investigation by the Intelligence Bureau into the marriage bash of State Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s son Benoy.

Siddik said that allegations have already come on the involvement of the shady businessman Xavie Mano Mathew in the marriage functions.

The statement of Youth Congress State president will certainly create more problems to the CPI(M) leader who is currently given an important post as the CPI(M) Politburo member.

The CPI(M) national general secretary Prakash Karat has in the recently concluded party congress in Coimbatore stressed the importance of the party leaders staying away from shady businessmen and Surendran has said that this was totally violated by the State Home Minister who has now become one of the decision makers of the CPI(M) at the national level.

The Yuva Morcha leader has also alleged that the issue was serious as the person involved is the State Home Minister which could directly affect the internal security of the State.

The allegations raised by the YC and the Yuva Morcha cannot be lightly taken by the State Home Department as there are accusations of the presence of certain shady businessmen in the reception function.

Surendran has also alleged that in this reception held on April 12, media persons or social and political workers were not allowed entry and was centered around certain shady businessmen of the middle east and persons like Xavie Mano Mathew.

CPI(M) sources have already come out in defense of the Home Minister and is approaching media offices that it was the Minister’s younger son Bineesh Kodiyeri who had booked the hall in Sree Moolam Club for the reception on April 12.

The Yuva Morcha leader has said that this was a cooked up receipt which States that donation of Rs thirty thousand was paid to the club on behalf of Bineesh Kodiyeri.

Media has already reported that the register in the SMC has clearly indicated that it was Xavie Mano Mathew who had booked the hall for the party to take place.

It may be recalled that controversies were raging on the Home Minister staying in the house owned by Xavie Mano Mathew when the Merchiston estate deal had come out.

The present incident clearly shows that the State Home Minister and his family has direct contacts with a businessman like Xavie Mano Mathew.
