With a begging bowl in the name of Sabarimala Q management

published on September 18, 2012

Following is an invitation published by Kerala Police, inviting advertisement for it web portal to manage devotees coming for Swami Ayyappa’s darshan.

Kerala Police would like to make the “Sabarimala Virtual Q Portal” a self sustained
initiative by providing opportunities to display advertisements. There will be various
advertising slots in the Portal Home page and Inner Pages, Profile Registration Pages,
Time Slot Booking Pages, in emails and SMS being sent to those who register as well as
in the Coupon Printout which is to be carried by the devotees.

These will be excellent opportunities for Companies/Organizations to advertise
about their brand, products and services and also to display their message. The
Advertisement Banners will have high visibility and influence and the Advertisements on the Coupon will have huge impact considering the importance of the coupon to a devotee.

We propose to accept advertisements from Government/ Government Run/ Public
Sector Firms/Private Firms as approved by Govt. for raising funds for the purpose of
implementing the scheme.

Contrary to the general image of Kerala Police, Ayyappa devotees have always applauded the service and dedication of  Kerala Police. (Only few know that Home Ministry also charges a huge sum at the end of Sabarimala pilgrim time which lasts for nearly 4 months).

While crores of Rupees flow to Government coffers from Sabarimala, why not our Government is ready to spend a feeble amount for the the maintenance of this virtual Q portal?

Who will monitor the advertisement applications?

Will the ‘SECULAR’ police have the right to reject a advertisement if it is hurting Hindus?

Is this yet another ploy to help Missionaries who want to advertise about the greatness of their one and only saviour through this portal?

Yes , You can call us Paranoid – But those who are aware about the state of Hindus in Kerala will never blame us for airing our concerns.
