When Swayamsevaks Came to the Rescue of Submerged Paddy fields and Rotting Crops

via HK published on May 3, 2015

Chenganoor:  Donning the kakki short trousers and wielding a sickle, the Swayamsevaks of RSS set forth with a definite constructive agenda- as always. This time they had to save the paddy fields from rotting further and harnessing the crops. And they did it successfully, setting a fine example- all this, tucked away from media glare or any unwarranted publicity.

The paddy fields, spanning an area of over an acre belongs to Thampi of Kochithara Veedu. Untimely rains that continued showering for over a week harrowed him endlessly, with his fields getting submerged in water.  And in these submerged fields, it was amply difficult to use machinery to implement a harvest. And with human labour remaining elusive thing took a depressive turn. It was at this juncture that the Swayamsevaks decided to take matters into their hand and save the entire harvest.

As many as 20 Swayamsevaks came to Thampy’s aid following his request. The harvest was heaped in a huge cauldron and ferried to the banks.
