We are Nehrus: Karunakaran

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: “Me  and Sonia belong to the elite Nehru family. No forces in earth can separate us,” Karunakara Nehru told media persons after a meeting with Muslim League leaders P.K Kunhalikutty and E T Mohammed Basheer who play the role of brokers to finalise a  marriage of convenience between the former and the Congress president.

Karunakaran and son Muraleedharan who quarreled with the Congress leadership and floated their own outfit with an un-parliamentary name, find themselves in a no man’s land following the refusal by CPM to take the K-clan group in the LDF. Efforts are on to minimize the damage suffered by “Leader” and son by making them coming back to the Congress led by Sonia. 
 
The condition set by the Congress leaders in Kerala for the entry of Karunakaran and Muraleedharan to UDF was that the duo should pay obeisance to Sonia. Karunakaran fulfilled the demand by declaring that he and Sonia had the same lineage. Now it is for Sonia to reciprocate by showing green flag to the octogenarian leader who has started displaying his senility. It is not known whether Murali has accepted his father’s announcement about the latter’s hitherto unknown parentage.
