Balagokulam has brought out this year’s Vishu-New Year greeting cards. The cards have exquisitely printed pictures of Bhagavan Sreekrishnan with greeting words inscribed on them.

According to the Indian calendar system, the ongoing Indian New Year commenced from 23 March, 2012-that is the year 5114 of Nandana Year, in the month of Chaitra. According to cultural traditions of our land, from the first day of the month of Chaitram, many festivities are observed. Kerala’s Vishu comes at the final phase of Chaitram month. Vishu brings along with it celebrations, beginning with Vishukani. According to Malayalam calendar, Vishu’s arrival marks the end of the month of Meenam and ushering in of Medam. It is during this auspicious time that the birthdays of Lord SreeRama, Sree Shankaracharya, Dr. BR Amedkar, founder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Dr. Kesav Baliram Hedgewar fall.
