Vimochana Yatra begins today

Kasaragode: It is with the slogan of ‘New Kerala, Clean Politics’ that Kerala’s BJP chief is to lead the Vimochana Yatra, which commences today, from Manjeswaram. The yatra will be inaugurated by Union Minister Venkiah Naidu at 10.00 am. Other Union ministers Sadananda Gowda, Nalin Kumar Kateel, senior BJP leader and national secretary H Raja, actor Suresh Gopi will take part in the inaugural function.

Before commencing the yatra, Kummanam will pay homage to slain balidanis of Marad. He will also offer floral tributes at the Smriti Mandap of KG Marar in Payyambalam, from where he will proceed to Kasargode, where a warm reception will be accorded to him at the railway station. Kummanam will pay obeisance to the divine in Madhur temple, from where he would proceed  to the venue at Uppala.

From the first day to the eighth, Kummanam will take part in reception programmes. He is to render his speech for half an hour at the various places. The yatra which is to culminate on 10 February will cover 140 constituencies in 21 days. The final event will be inaugurated by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

The BJP state president will travel in an open jeep, which will be part of a convoy of 20 jeeps. A mobile library will also be part of the yatra. Provision for casting suggestions on  ”How my land should be” has also been made in the form of a drop box. These suggestions will be compiled to form the vision document for the forthcoming assembly election.
