Village action council flays president’s decision to give nod to Aranmula Airport.

Aranmula heritage council patron Kummanam Rajasekharan had flayed the President’s decision to give nod to alleged aranmula airport project.During President’s address marking the beginning of the budget session of the Parliament,President Pranab Mukherjee said the centre has granted permission in principle for the Aranmula airport.

Neglecting significance of mass protest by villagers, Govt is mulling for corporate and their deceived ideas to destruct the cultural values and heritage of a kerala village.President’s decision to give clean chit for alleged airport project is totally unlawful and absurd. It is nothing but challenging to the legal system of this country, kummanam said in the protection march held at aranmula on last day evening.

The local MLA and MP could not muster courage to even organize a single public meeting in Aranmula in favors of the project. “And you call this public support?” Kummanam asked.

He further added Villagers of aranmula will never give a chance to construct an airport at aranmula by illegally filling the paddy land and wetland. All the land which illicitly acquired from the SCST people must be returned without any delay. In the view of president’s decision, action council will intensify the agitation in coming days and  join hands with like minded organizations.
