Vayalar Ravi, the Apostle

via HK Correspondent published on July 29, 2008

Union minister Vayalar Ravi is Madam’s faithful disciple and he leaves no stone unturned to demonstrate his loyalty. He was lauded by Madam for the valiant efforts put in by him for winning the recent No Confidence Motion in Parliament. He will not tolerate a bit of Hindutva whether it is in the country or abroad.

During the month of November 2006, he was in Australia on a tour and a Hindu Organization invited him to a Diwali Celebration at Canberra. Honorable minister could not stand the Hindu speech and did not hesitate to mention in his speech that Indians should refrain from spreading Hindutva ideas abroad.

But the same holy Minister on 27 July 2008 attended a function at Changanassery presided by Arch Bishop Mar Joseph Perunthottam and sent out a warning to CPM that their General Secretary should not dare to interfere with the affairs of Seminaries and Nuns. He went to the extent of challenging the LDF Government whether it has the power to stop a Christian girl if she opts to become a Nun?

What a paradox and what a Minister? At one place he advises devote Hindus to keep away from Hindutva and at another place he is preaching Christianity and try his best to uphold its values, and all these at Government expense.  No wonder that Madam is too pleased with this modern Apostle who made lots of hue and cry about the episode related to his son’s entry in Guruvaryoor temple also.
