Vadanapally tense
Thrissur : The region around Vadanapally remained tense after the killing of Youva Morcha activist Suijth. The 12-hour hartal called by the BJP is total and shops, schools and government offices remained closed.
Sujith who died on Sunday, was injured in an attack on Friday night at Chandapadi. He was beaten with iron pipes and stabbed in the back with a knife. Two other BJP activists, Subin (19) and Rajesh (22), were also injured in the attack. According to the police, a gang of 25 CPM activists had attacked the three.
The violence in Thrissur district had begins in January this year with the killing of a Yuvamorcha leader Satyesh in Kodungaloor by CPM activists. Due to severe pressure from the CPM district leaders, Police not arrested the accused inspite of clear evidence of two CPM activists’ direct involvement in the murder of Satyesh. Recently both the accused of being involved in the killing of Satyesh were murdered, one in Kodungalloor and the other recently in Chalakudy.
According to the local residences in Kodungaloor, an NRI has sponsored the murder of Satyesh. He had offered huge amount to local CPM-DYFI leaders for the killing of Satyesh. Intelligence sources too confirmed that Satyesh had been killed by local CPM and DYFI leaders with the blessings of a NRI businessman.
