PALAKKAD: Palakkad municipal chairperson V Devayani on Monday filed a complaint at the Palakkad South police station stating that her signature on the memorandum submitted for a no-confidence motion against S R Balasubramaniam of the BJP was fake since it was misused by some members of the UDF.

In her complaint, Devayani said that Congress parliamentary party leader in the municipality P V Rajesh and Muslim League parliamentary party leader Abdul Azeez had requested her to sign on blank papers stating that it was aimed at submitting a memorandum to the State Government.

She had therefore affixed her signatures on blank papers.

But surprisingly it was found that in the memorandum submitted to the Joint Director of Urban Development in Kozhikode demanding a notice be issued for a no-confidence motion against the vice-chairman, S R Balasubramaniam of the BJP, she was also one of the 18 signatories on it.

Devayani said that she had not signed any memorandum for a no-confidence against the vice-chairman.
