Two CPM thugs held for BJP leader’s murder

Kannur:Police have arrested two CPI(M) thugs in connection with the murder of BJP leader PP Valsaraj Kurup in South Panur near Thalassery in the district at March 4 midnight. Kirmani Manoj (24) of Panthakkal and Chetty Shaji (24) were arrested from near the Kannur Railway Station on Thursday.



The police have identified three others in the gang including Rubco employee Satheesan and Prakasan, an auto rickshaw driver at Pookoth. They are under close watch by the law enforcers. The police are still hesitant to reveal the name of one accused; hence they have disclosed all the other four names.

Thirty-six-year-old Valsaraj Kurup was murdered by a gang on March 4-5 midnight in front of his wife Bindu, herself a lawyer, after he was called out of the house.
