BADIADKA (Kasargode): Three temples were burgled in Manya near here on Thursday night. The thieves got away with a panchaloha idol and money from the Venkitramana temple while the hundi was reported missing from the nearby Khajala Chamundeswari temple.

The hundi of the Vishnumurthi Ottakkoala Devasthanam was also taken away by the thieves.

The theft at the Venkitramana temple was noticed by temple priest Subramanya Bhat early in the morning.

He reported the theft to the temple committee which informed the police. The ‘prabhavali’ of the Venkitramana temple was later found abandoned in the temple premises.

An autorickshaw was also found abandoned near the Khajala temple located 2 kms from the Venkitramana temple. Police said the autorickshaw was stolen from Kollanganam a few days ago.

A police team led by SP Natarajan conducted preliminary probe with the help of finger print experts.
