“This is the worst situation I ever had”- Ayyappa Devotee
Sabarimala: Another major hurdle which is facing the devotees who comes from far and wide is the connecting roads to Sabarimala. The devotees who reach Pathanamthitta district faces long queues of vehicles and there is virtually no road in places falling in the vicinity the temple including Laha and Nilakkal. With the season peaking in a few days, the Dewaswom Board and the Government do not have any answer to the vexed problems faced by the devotees who wants to reach the temple by facing any natural hardship.
It is also reported that the waste disposal is also totally failed in Sabarimala and the waste is all dumped into river Pampa which is used as the main sources of fresh water to the devotees.
Radhakrishnan from Payyannur, who is visiting the temple for the past sixteen years, told The Pioneer, “This is the worst situation I have come across during my long journey to this temple and this, I will say, is purely due to the lack of commitment on the part of the LDF Government who is giving a feeling among the general Hindus that the front is anti-Hindu.”
