The truth behind BJP H.Q attack

via HK Correspondent published on December 9, 2005

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh District Karyalay at Thiruvananthapuram wears a shocked look. The office bearers and the pracharaks are yet to get over the trauma created by the news that Mararji Bhavan, the state committee office of the BJP was destroyed by a group of RSS workers. The media in the state, especially the news channels like Asianet, Kairali and India Vision, controlled by Marxists and Islamic fundamentalists went gung-ho and gaga over the news. The attacks were carried out in a manner which has become the style of the hired hoodlums who are available for fixed rates all over the state.

“I was out in connection with a Sangh work when I saw the news being flashed in India Vision,” said Ravikumar, the Thiruvananthapuram district secretary of RSS. Speaking to Haindava Keralam, Ravikumar said that he rushed to Mararji Bhavan within minutes of hearing the news. “The atmosphere at the Mararji Bhavan was quite tense when I reached there. I was told by one of the Swayamsevaks who was present in the Mararji Bhavan that there were 35 persons who were standing outside the main gate. Once the camera team and photographers arrived, the persons standing outside the gate went on a rampage. They barged into the office and started destroying everything in sight. Strangely enough, none of them were members of the RSS,” said Ravikumar.

The entire show was a preplanned affair. The intruders alerted the press and TV channels that the Mararji Bhavan was going to be destroyed by the RSS workers. Please note that they started the vandalism only after the arrival of the press persons,” Ravikumar said. By the time Ravikumar and some other Swayamsevaks reached the scene, 19 of the hooligans had escaped from the scene. The remaining 16 were trapped inside the  Mararji Bhavan office since the swayamsevaks present at the office bolted the gate from outside. “I could identify one of the intruders. He used to come to our Sahka some ten years back and had been expelled from the Sangh six years back because of his antecedents and association with hired goondas in the city,” RaviKumar said.

Ravikumar and Madhu, a senior pracharak in the district ruled out the possibilities of the presence of any swayamsevaks among the attackers. “This is an attack carried out by anti-social elements with some ulterior motives. The fact that the media were alerted before the attack speaks volumes about the designs of the attackers,” said Ravi Kumar. The perpetrators of the crime made it look like an attack by the close associates of P P Mukundan, the BJP leader against O Rajagopal, according to Ravi Kumar.

Ravi Kumar knows all the swayamsevaks in the district either by their names or face. Madhu, a  senior Pracharak of the Sangh does not have any doubt that the attack was yet another attempt by the enemies to discredit the good reputation enjoyed by the Sangh. “The so called  Mukundan-Rajagopal tiff is nothing other than some hogwash to create sensational news,” said Ravikumar.
