Terrorists in Sabarimala: VHP calls for immediate action
Thiruvananthapuram:The Vishwa Hindu Parishad submitted a memorandum to Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishanan and the Director General of Police demanding a detailed inquiry into the arrest of three persons from Tamil Nadu in Sabarimala. Parishad organising secretary Kummanam Rajasekharan said in a statement that three persons were accused in the Coimbatore blasts case.
Rajasekharan asked the authorities to cancel the licence of the tea shop, seal it and begin prosecution procedures. He also wanted that the police take urgent steps to nab another 20 persons alleged to have been with the arrested persons.
The authorities had stepped up security at all important temples in the State for Wednesday. Metal detectors were installed at five vital points including the Pathinettam Padi (the holy eighteen steps) that lead to the sanctum sanctorum of the hill shrine. Mobile phones and cameras had been strictly prohibited. The Sri Krishna temple at Guruvayur also remained under tight security on Wednesday.
