The international book festival of Kochi is entering its 10th year of glorious service. The festival will be organised from December 1 to 10 at the well-known Ernakulathappan grounds in Kochi. Visiting hours at the festival will be 10.00 am to 8.00 pm. The last date for booking stalls is November 10.

The last nine festivals have been very successful, thanks to the unstinting support from publishers, distributors, book-sellers and book-lovers. The active participation of eminent personalities, thinkers, writers, artists, educationists, scientists, social scientists and others, inspired the organisers, the exhibitors and the book-lovers alike. The enlightening discourses of these personalities and their interactions with the book-lovers, students and others enhanced the charm of every book festival. Publishers consider the festival an ideal arena to introduce their wide range of books to the book-lovers. Over the years, lakhs of book-lovers have been benefited by these festivals. And from the point of view of readers and librarians, these festivals help them in keeping abreast with the latest in the literary world, and provide them ample selection for the major purchases for the year.

The number of stalls in the festivals have also increased every year. This year, about 200 to 250 exhibitors are expected to participate. The added attraction of this year¢s festival is the Educational-Expo, which will showcase the educational and career opportunities all over the globe. Universities and educational institutions from India and abroad and leading Indian and international business houses are participating in the Expo. Professional and career counsellors will also provide guidance. Those interested in booking stalls can contact: Shri E.N.
