Temple ornaments recovered

Kasaragod: A day after valuables, including gold ornaments worth Rs 1.80 lakh were stolen from the Puzhathi Ganesh Temple in Kannur, police recovered the booty and arrested one person from Nileshwaram in Kasaragod district. A police team arrested the man at the Nileshwaram railway flyover and found the stolen valuables kept in a bag. The man, hailing from Payyannur, was planning to dispose of the valuables in Nileshwaram where, he said, he stayed before, police said. He is allegedly involved in several other theft and burglary cases. Valuables, including gold and silver ornaments, offered by the devotees were found stolen from the temple hundi on early Wednesday morning.
