TDB revenue collections from Sabarimala up by Rs 4.5 crore

With the closing of the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple after this year’s “Mandala Puja” yesterday, the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) has become rich by Rs43.57 crore, which is Rs4.5 crore more than the revenue collections of last season.


According to the TDB President, Mr G Raman Nair, the sale proceeds from Aravana and Appam up to the Mandala Puja stood at Rs16.23 crore and Rs4.69 crore respectively while the Hundi collections were at 15.29 crore. He has also inaugurated the sale of “Ayyappa Mudra” golden lockets of 3grams, 5 grams and 8 grams, brought out in association with the Dhanalakshmi Bank.


The temple will re-open for the Makaravilakku Festival on Dec 30.
