Kochi, Dec 11

The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) is planning to undertake manufacturing of “Aravana” and Appam by it directly once the present contract expires after one year.

Already the Board is in the process of setting up a modern Aravana plant at Pandithavalam near Sannidhanam at a cost of Rs six crore, according to official sources.

At present, on an average one lakh aravana containers are sold at Sannidhanam. The supply of aravana has been restricted now to 10 container per pilgrim following some technical snags in the plant, which is under repair and expected to be completed soon. Once the plant resumes normal functioning the curb on supply would be removed, they said.
