TDB ignores Temples, Hardships and agony to devotees

via HK published on June 21, 2007

Pathanamthitta: Inefficiency of Travancore Devaswom board in upholding the interests of devotees and temple matters is causing severe hardship and mental agony to the devotees of Malayalappuzha Amma. This sufferings is not limited to this one Temple, Same is the case in majority of the Devaswom governed Temples

Complaints from devotees are pouring in from every quarters, who are unable to conduct shayana pradakshinam due to the incomplete paving of stones on temple courtyard and ‘pradakshina vazhi’. Most of the devotees who travel distances to the abode of Malayalappuzha Amma are forced to go back unable to fulfil their offering due to the negligence of TDB.

The decision to pave rocks at Malayalappuzha temple was taken by the previous board, for saving the courtyard from turning to mud-swamps during monsoon seasons. Accordingly, the contract was granted and the laying of stones was completed till the North-West part.

However, following the new governments decision to dissolve the Devaswom Boards, the project also stopped half-way through. Eventhough new board was formed, no decision could be taken on this matter yet, owing to the anarchy prevailing between the CPM nominee President and other atheist members of CPI and RSP .Contractor also stopped work as he was not being paid for the work completed so far.

At present, there is a height difference of about 1.5ft. between the paved and the non-paved sections of courtyard and pradakshina vazhi, which makes impossible for anyone to conduct shayana-pradakshinam.Till date no action has been taken by the Temple authorities to complete the pending work so that devotees interests are taken care of. Hundreds of devotees return home everyday, unable to offer their prayer for Devi.

As usual,it is the devotees who are paying the price for the inefficiency and carelessness of the atheist Marxists who turn deaf ears to temple matters, except for the jingling cash inside Hundi.

At the same time those Temples managed by devoted Hindus, which haven’t succumbed yet to Temple capture of Government, Is setting model on how to administer a Temple without the advice of any political chauvinist.
