KOZHIKODE: The Kunnamangalam police recovered Rs.18 lakh of hawala money from a youth here on Tuesday. The cops were on a routine vehicle inspection on NH 212 near Kunnamangalam.
Kunnamangalam SI K.Sanilkumar and party seized the money from Muhammed Ali, 26, son of Assain hailing from Koduvally on Monday late night. He had kept the money in his Maruti 800 and according to the police a person from Kozhikode handed over the hawala money to Muhammed.
The money was supposed to be collected from him by one Aboobacker at Koduvally.
