Swami Chinmayananda’s statue unveiled
KANNUR: A bronze statue of Swami Chinmayananda was unveiled at the Chinmaya Institute of Technology as part of the 90th birth anniversary of the swami. Leela Group Chairman C P Krishnan Nair unveiled the statue at a function at the CIT at Chala here. K K Rajan, chief sevak, Chinmaya Educational and Cultural Trust, and P Krishnan, president, Chinmaya Mission, were present. The statue, sculpted by N Manoj Kumar of Thazhe Chovva, at a cost of Rs 2 lakhs was sponsored by Capt. Krishnan Nair. Capt. Nair recalled his association with the swami since 1942. In his felicitation address, former administrator Murkot Ramunny spoke about the blend of the worldly and spiritual education initiated by the swami.
