Sujith killing : Hartal in Thrissur today

Thrissur : In protest against the murder of Yuva Morcha leader PS Sujith, who succumbed to stab injuries at a private hospital in the early hours of Sunday, BJP  has called for a dawn-to-dusk hartal in the district today.

Sujith, who was the panchayat president of the Yuva Morcha, was stabbed several times by a group of CPI(M) thugs, in the coastal town of Engandiyur.

BJP district leadership in a Press release said that the call by the party to discuss and chalk out a strategy to stop violence in the town with their political counterparts had till now fallen on deaf ears.

BJP State general secretary AN Radhakrishnan, Yuva Morcha secretary P Krishnadas among other workers offered their last respects to the killed leader.

Earlier, the RSS pranth pracharak received the body from the Medical College after a post mortem. The body was taken to his hometown in a procession by BJP workers on Sunday evening.
