Sufi Madani visits Chief Minister & Home Minister
Shri.Oommen Chandy soon after becoming Chief Minister rushed to the house of Madani at Mynagappally (Sasthamcotta) to console his family members and even had lunch with Madani’s father. Now a week after swearing in as Kerala Chief Minister, V.S Achuthanandan allows audience to Mrs.Madani, Madani’s father and Poonthura Siraj. Later they met with Home Minister and Pinarayi Vijayan and handed them copies of memorandum that was given to Chief Minister. After all, Madani issue was one subject that VS and Pinarayi cared to narrate in their speeches at every place wherever PDP has been active.
But this Madani issue always brings a doubt in the minds of the common man as to why this man is above the law. It is to common knowledge that over 70% inmates in Indian jails are under trial prisoners, just like Madani. If the judicial system in the country needs to be changed, then the political parties that have ruled this country for over 58 years must have thought about it. On the other hand when members of the assembly and even ministers who have taken an oath to uphold the constitution and law of land indulge in such issues contrary to the very spirit of the oath, common man start loosing faith in their stance.
