Strife in Kannur: Marxist Goons Attack BJP Ward Meet; 3 Injured

Kannur: Three BJP workers including BJP District Election Cell Convenor have suffered serious injuries when a group of Marxist goons barged into a ward meeting being held and unleashed terror at the venue. The incident took place in Perinthaleri of Chengalayi Grama Panchayath of Irikkoor constituency. Those injured are Cell Convenor P Balakrishnan Master, P Satyapalan and PV Ganesh.

The meeting was conducted in the residence of J Janardhanan, when a gang of around 25 Marxist men barged into the venue and unleashed terror at the spot. They are said to have yelled that “no BJP activities will be conducted in our party village.” Balakrishnan Master was attacked mercilessly, sustaining serious wounds on his face and body. Apart from the attack, Balakrishnan Master was looted of cash and his bag containing pass books and cheque books of BJP offices and a pen drive. The injured have been admitted to Thaliparambu Taluk Hospital. A case has been registered with Sreekandhapuram police initiating a probe.

Perinthela is a place where a mass exodus took place from CPM to BJP and other Sangh Parivar groups. This is said to be the main reason of the attack.
