via HK published on September 7, 2007

HARIPPAD : Kerala Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi today warned the government to stay away from the award ceremony for M.F. Hussain. The prestigious Raja Ravi Varma award to a person  who has depicted Hindu Gods in the nude is an insult to the whole Hindu society in Kerala. “If the government  is planning to go ahead with the Award ceremony, Hindu society have no other alternative but to deal the situation directly including to stop him physically”, said Kshethra Samrakshna Samithi state president Dr. K. Balakrishna Variar.

There are more than 1250 criminal cases are pending across the country against Hussain and he is hiding in U.K & Middle East countries. Ignoring all these facts the state government is preparing to bring this absconded criminal to Kerala and honor him. While number of courts from different part of the country has already issued arrest warrant against Hussain, Kerala govt. is preparing to honor him, its a challenge to the Indian constitution.

According to sources Minister M.A. Baby is in touch with M.F. Hussain over phone and assured his safely during his visit in Kerala on 17th of this month.

Dr. Balakrishan asked Minister G. Sudhakaran to comment on this issue by clarifying his stand.
