Kochi (13.2.2012) : Activists of Hindu Janajgruti Samiti created awareness amongst the youngsters regarding the moral and cultural degradation being caused due to the celebration of Valentine’s Day. Through placards and pamphlets, they tried to reach out to many students in schools and colleges of Ernakulam.

Today, Valentine’s Day is celebrated all over in many schools and colleges. Through exchange of flowers, gifts, cards, etc. many young girls and boys express their love for each other. But can love be confined to just one day?

Bharat is a very rich country have great culture and traditions. Through the blind following of western culture, all this is being wiped out slowly. Celebration of Valentine’s Day amounts to blind imitation of the immoral western culture and is an open devaluation of Bharateeya culture.

Our revolutionaries sacrificed their lives in the prime of their youth to free our Motherland. Had they to indulge in various activities like celebrating Valentine’s Day, would our country have got freedom? Today when the country is being afflicted by terrorism and corruption, who should wage a war against such evils and protect the country – 74 year old Anna Hazare or youth like us?

The ‘Valentine’s Day’ has been excluded from the Roman Calendar due to lack of any evidence but in India, many are making money in the name of Valentine’s day. Celebrating this day leads to many immoral activites.

Let us remember that enhancing the pride of Bharat or again accepting the slavery of westerners, is entirely in our hands. So it is high time we realize it and act accordingly!

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti is creating awareness regarding this throughout the country.
