Sreedharan Pillai withdraws resignation

Mr Sreedharan Pillai, BJP state president, who had resigned following the party’s humiliating defeat at the Thiruvananthapuram parliamentary by-election last month, has withdrawn his resignation on the advice of the party’s National President, Mr L K Advani.


Mr Pillai had sent his resignation owning responsibility for abysmal performance of the party’s candidate and former state president, Mr C K Padmanabhan in the by-election.


Meanwhile, reports from Thodupuzha have said that the party’s Idukki district president Mr M N Jayachandran along with 25 BJP workers have quit the party and they are said to be planning to join Mr K Karunakaran’s DIC(K).
