THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The State on Monday turned virtually into Ambadi, with lakhs of tiny tots dressed themselves as Krishna and Gopikas and other characters of the puranas donning the streets as part of the Janmashtami celebrations being conducted by the Balagokulam, worlds biggest kids organization.

There were more than 8000 processions and programmes throughout the State organised by the Balagokulam. The annual Janmashtami programmes are one of the hugely attended events held across the State. There are cultural programmes also as part of the celebrations. Pageantries depicting scenes from Lord Krishna’s life like Geethopadesam were organised across the State.

According to reports available more than two lakh children had participated in the shobha yatras and the programmes.

In Thalassery, where minor incidents of violence were reported in the past few days, the Janmashtami programme drew huge crowds. BJP State president PK Krishnadas also attended Janmashtami function at Kannur.

However, most of the state visual medias sidelined & blacked out the Balagokulam events as a part  of their hidden agenda.
